Introduction to Mass Spectrometry

Créditos: 3

This theoretical course is designed to provide students with a solid foundational understanding of mass spectrometry as a multidisciplinary analytical technique. It focuses on the operating principles of mass spectrometers, sample preparation strategies, and approaches to data interpretation and visualization. The students will learn: the fundamentals of mass spectrometry, the structure and functioning of various commercially available mass spectrometers, and the unique features of each instrument. These aspects will be illustrated through practical examples from fields such as clinical studies, environmental sciences, chemistry,
biology, and food sciences, giving students a confident grasp of the subject.
